‘Visionaries and dreamers have always been dusted with a little oddity.’

As always I have been working hard, I redecorated my blog as you can see, getting rid of the stock background and replacing it with a tiled version of my logo. I then made a collage of a few of my highest quality pictures of my favourite pieces...my biggest hope for this year is to buy a really high quality camera so all my pictures can look as good as those. I am new to blogging so please bare with me and I promise to make it the best blog I can. Anyway I hope you like it.

Everything for the fashion show I am putting on is going really well. Brighton graphic designers Osomi created this flier for me...check out their website for more information.

I have been working hard to create some awesome head pieces for the catwalk that fit into the themes of the show - lust and decadence. These are not finished yet but I thought you might all like a sneak preview.

This one is called A Very English Submission...I am going to totally cover the head band in the roses and add details to the sexy tied up sailor girl.
This one is called A Very English Domination - I am actually going to keep this one almost as is - just a few tweaks here and there. The hat is totally made out of Polymer Clay and the bow is made out of Latex.

I must have been in a sculpting mood this week as I also made 2 characters for my ADULT range 'Where are they now? Beloved Childrens TV Characters.' First I made 'Tinker bell - Still on that Pixie Dust' and then I made 'Cookie Monster - C is for Cholesterol' hehe. I have so much fun for these and they really are just to satisfy the artist in me and my sense of humour, no offence caused is intentional...well, maybe a bit. I really enjoy writing the stories that go with them so please take a moment to read them.

Tinker Bell to this day remains the tiniest starlet ever to grace the screen. Her role started off simply as ‘A Common Fairy’ and her cute demeanour, funny wit and her backstage schmoozing promoted her to the Tinker Bell we all knew and loved as one of the stars of Peter Pan….but there was always a dark undertone to her partying…her obvious bipolar causing her deep bouts of depression she would squash with booze and ‘pixie dust’ - a long running joke with the writers and cast of the show. She is still managing to work to fund her habit for now but now looks washed up and her need for time off for various surgeries, unsuccessful stints in rehab and even community service are leaving bosses frustrated...rumour has it her nose is a prosthetic and her bosses are thinking of replacing her character with someone more stable. We will keep you updated.

The Cookie Monster. Where is he now? Many generations of Sesame Street fans knew and loved him for his gluttonous ways and poor use of the English language and he quickly became a firm favourite for kids and grown up kids alike but with the growing child obesity crisis it wasn't long before the PC police turned their burning torches and pointing their pitchforks in his direction. Television producers begged him to change his compulsive eating ways and to lose some weight but for a Muppet whose popularity had always been based upon his binging ways this proved to be an impossible task. He soon lost air time and with it his inner social butterfly. These days he rarely leaves the house, gets his cookies delivered to the door and watches old episodes of him in his hay day, sobbing whilst melancholically humming his infamous theme tune C is for Cookie...

I did then get a chance to make some jewellery. I absoloutly adore these comic hair clips and as soon as the fashion show is over I am going to make a whole load to take around all the quirky shops where I live. Unlike a lot of the stuff I make I think these are really sell-able in a commercial sense but they still satisfy my individuality and fun.

POW!!!

My mum gave me a load of vintage watch faces the other day and I have loads of cool ideas for using them  - but I thought it was about time I made something for the lovers of Valentines day...but never fear I will be back making my Anti-Valentines day stuff very soon.

'Lets Begin Our Fairytale' Necklace

I do have a few more pieces to put up but today I need to go into town and buy some more glue/gloss/clay and well basically everything...why is it that everything always runs out at the same time? Anyway I will post those all soon. I have been feeling really inspired this week and have found inspiration in almost everything. Here are some pictures of what you might be able to expect of me in the future.

I love the idea of a studded gas mask, so kick ass. Would have to girlie it up in some way though.

How cute is this fella? Perfect for an Anti-Easter design...yes, I am  going to do an anti Easter range...I am anti everything.

I found this a while ago but totally forgot...I love the idea that clouds excrete rainbows...and  everything should be drunk at least once.

Any artwork by Mark Ryden is an inspiration for Trinkerbelle. http://www.markryden.com cute and bizarre that's what I'm all about.

I am making a dissected frog necklace...this is happening...definitely going to make it a super cute Kawaii one with a little happy face.

Promise to upload pics of my other work soon...Hope you have enjoyed this post and the new look, spread the Trinkerbelle word. x

(If any of my inspiration pictures are yours please just let me know...I just pull so much off of Google images I can never keep track of where or who. I try to link where I can so please just send me a message.)

Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.

Wow! So hectic this week. Guerrilla Fashion is really taking off and am having lots of exciting meetings with graphic designers, performers, models etc. Had a photo shoot modelling some of my jewellery with one of my sponsors for the show Goddamn Media which was a lot of fun...especially as I'm concentrating on changing my style at the moment.

Here are a few pictures from the shoot...you can find the rest on my facebook Trinkerbelle page www.facebook.co.uk/trinkerbelle

As you can see I'm still totally absorbed by this pastel goth/kawaii grunge theme.

Whilst exploring my new found obsession online I came across Kerli - the queen of Bubble Goth, clothes DIY goddess and all round superstar. She spurred me on to make this beautiful gas mask teddy...he is probably one of my all time favourites.

So if you haven't already heard of her go and have a hunt around...she seems to be just a lovely ball of loveliness...inspiring and fun.

Some other pieces I made this week...

Kawaii Blade.

I actually made this just as a prototype for a new club night but as soon as I uploaded it to the facebook page I got a couple of orders. It's super trashy and super fun - a must for any ravers.

I also made a start on my anti-Valentines day range - because you know I like to do things a little differently. I am having so much fun with these I can't even explain...

Jaded Heart.

Bitter candy. (My fave is 'You'll Do' what's yours?)

Ashtray heart - I think we have all felt like this from time to time.

So as you can see I am as busy as busy can be...keep checking in.
As Kerli would say...Integrity, love, unity.

Kawaii Grunge and Pastel Goth

Whilst doing some late night research online I came across the styles of Kawaii Grunge and Pastel Goth. I thought it fitted my Trinkerbelle sense of humour so decided to start a range...I couldn't sleep for the ideas flooding in so had to start right away - very naughty considering I should be working on my designs for the Guerrilla Fashion Event II - Oh I am the very worst in procrastination.

I hope you like these...I feel I will be making more.

One day I hope to be big in Japan.

Guerrilla Fashion

In 2011 I founded Guerrilla Fashion and put on a fantastic show with the help of my then creative directer and my now joint partner, the incredible Zoe Van Spyk. It went better than I could have dreamt of, I met some amazing people, saw some beautiful clothes - and once the stress was out the way - had a wonderful day I will never forget. This years is even more exciting for me as I will be showcasing my Trinkerbelle designs on a catwalk for the very first time.

'It can be kind of gruesome at times, making things alone.'

Still crazy busy but managed to do a few new designs last night that I love. The first one is a white glittery (Fimo Effect) butterfly who has been shot down...no actual butterflies were harmed in the making of this necklace. The idea came to me when I saw a picture of a beautiful white rose covered in blood - I loved the juxtaposition of pretty and girly and harsh and gory, definitely the Trinkerbelle way...I love how it turned out but think I might do a few more in different positions/colours and with tattier wings.

The next design I did came from some cartoon pictures I found online (there are loads of them) of a zombie Spongebob square pants...I was sure that loads of Polymer Clay artists would have attempted this but couldn't find any on google images - which I was very happy about as Trinkerbelle hates to copy. I love him, how can something be so gross and so cute at the same time? Poor little thing has lost an arm and gained some maggots.

P.S I uploaded these from my iphone and used a FREE app called eZy Watermark to sign it...it's so quick and easy to use.

No Rest For the Wicked...but still time to shop.

Pay day for me means clay day for Trinkerbelle...I found some really cute colours and stocked up on white and black...now I can relax...actually no I can't. Working like crazy to get things ready for my fashion show in February The Guerrilla Fashion Event II https://www.facebook.com/events/453407461363472/?fref=ts. I am making all sorts of head pieces and necklaces to compliment each other and the models...the themes of the show are lust and decadence so they need to be pretty saucy...I have made a rather cute little sailor girl and bondage tied her to an anchor for my head piece entitled 'A Very English Submission'...pictures soon I promise. Other ideas swimming around my mind are a casino/Vegas style design with playing cards, dice and more glitz then you can shake a stick at (whatever the hell that means), a pre raphaelite/siren - subtle and floaty design and a Gothic, dark mistress of pain type piece. Haven't had much time to work on anything else as I am organising the event as well but will have pictures of a Tank Girl inspired charm necklace and 'Tinkerbell - still snorting that pixie dust' model to put up soon...phew, have I got time for a cuppa? I wish
New clay to pay with, and everything is back to normal again. I am poor but happy.

What a Way to Make a Living.

Next week I am going to be moving my work space to the Brighton Arts Club, 43 Providence Place, Brighton.

Come in and watch me work - this Arts Club has a wonderful vibe, a lovely cafe and some amazing stalls - including my own.

Thursday 3 January 2013

I am currently working really hard on creating my first head pieces using a mixture of Polymer Clay, material and more. I want to make at least 3 to showcase at my Guerrilla Fashion Show https://www.facebook.com/events/453407461363472/?fref=ts at The Brighton Arts Club https://www.facebook.com/BrightonArtsClub?fref=ts on February the 16th...the one I am currently working on is titled 'A very English Submission and features all sorts of nautical naughtiness. This is my first time creating something this ornate and it's very exciting and a little bit scary...once I have finished I will put some pics up but for now here are a few things I made over the holiday period...
I am totally in love with Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory so made this little T-shirt as an ode to him...

Made this tiny JD bottle as a present to a friend. It is so hard to get a good photo of as it is ridiculously small.

An Alice In Wonderland themed cupcake key ring...so cute very pleased with the little clock.

For I Can Raise No Money By Vial Means!

Yes I just misquoted Shakespeare and yes, it was worth it. Every now and then I make lots of teeny tiny things to go in a little vial necklace...

Every now and then I make something of epic cute proportions...this, is one of those things. A fairy love potion necklace. Includes 1 unicorns horn (died of natural causes obviously) rose petals plucked from the love fairies garden, a golden mushroom the rarest of all the mushrooms in fairy land, a tear shed by the wicked witch, a feather plucked from a sleeping silver angels wing and the only remaining writings of such a spell on an ancient scroll.

The perfect hangover cure, a vial of coffee beans with the cutest little mocha-chocca-cappa-chappa-doo-daa  with  extra cream  on the side.
My attempt at Christmas spirit.

(WARNING ADULT) Where Are They Now? Beloved Childrens TV Characters.

Once the obsession of fruit with mental health issues had released me from it's grip I needed a new wacky project to keep the
creative demons at bay and shortly after, this idea came to me - what happens to the characters they love when children get too old for them...I still have so many I need to do including Tinkerbelle - still snorting that pixie dust, a botox addicted Jessica Rabbit and an obese cookie monster...I really hope you love these as much as I do - each one is my baby. Please don't just look at the pictures, the story truly makes them...My fave design is TinkyWinky but my fave story is Arthur definitely...what's yours?  I will continue to add to this page as and when I have time to indulge myself.

(No offence intended)

Winnie The Pooh...where is he now you ask? Well it's a sad story. After Christoper Robins finally grew up, he went to study Law in London not far from where Pooh bear and his friends had lived in Sussex. He didn't have much time for his little anthropomorphic friends anymore and each one slowly drifted away (Tiggers obvious drug problem finally sending him on a downward spiral straight into rehab and Eeyore depression finally getting the better of him)...Pooh found himself alone in the Ashdown forest, day by day more trees were getting cut down, more land getting taken over by new branches of Tescos...Pooh hated Tescos. So Pooh set out to the shining lights of the nearest town, Brighton to find some more acting work. Unfortunately his life long and on going weight problems (he can often be seen falling about Kemp Town slurring that he is 'just big boned') stood in the way and as he watched all the parts going to more slender bears in the industry, the honey started to run out. He soon got in with the wrong crowd and was convinced his only option was to sell his young fuzzy body to dirty men coming to the town for a bit of fun...And now it's a well known fact that Pooh bear, will fuck for honey!

In 2002 when the Telletubbies came to an end TinkyWinky still had stardom in his eyes. He waited for the calls asking him to go to Hollywood but they never came. He started going to castings but all the parts would go to the actors that could actually speak. All that was left was the parties, his one last foot in the door of fame...and look at him now.

Arthur - after many years on our screen (he still actually self broadcasts the show for 'the fans') Arthur finally realised that books and libraries are not the answer as no matter how much he studied he kept getting held back a year. He decided that all anyone cares about is swag! He gave up his library card for a cane and his book bag for some bling. He currently uses Elwood City to smuggle drugs from all over the world and trickles them down through his 'posse' of petrified gang members who - after watching Arthur shoot his best friend Buster Baxter in the face without even blinking will never try to overturn his reign. Sister Dora Winifred is currently sleeping with a rival gang member...we will keep you updated on how that one works out for her.

Things Can Only Get Better!

Just a cute little robot girl.

Zombie eat your heart out necklace.

I totally love this guy - A lot of hard work went into him and I remember feeling very proud.

Love these guys...frothy beer...yum!

Probably my most popular design.

Mini handbags and hats currently on display at Brighton Arts Club.

Think I just wanted to make something uber girly and looks like I succeeded.

YUM!

Love the cloud.

A custom order AppleJack set.

Tough as old boots, very detailed - sold this at the Brighton Arts Shop.

A rose among the thorns - probably the most commercial piece I have made, got a great photo of it to.

This is another that I am very proud of, totally original. Geek meets Kawaii...so Trinkerbelle.

I made these after getting told of for not being cute and girly enough.

These didn't quite end up how I wanted them to, like the sushi though.

My little pony zombie necklace - not very original but had to give this one a go!

What's in your bag of swag? Trinkerbelles first attempt at a key ring
